Are You Ready?
Are you a Christian? Do you believe the Bible? Do you read it and desire to practice what is written in it? Are you interested in going to heaven?
Have you noticed what is happening among Christians today—that there are so many different types and divisions? Have you listened to the news and seen what is happening in the world? Wars and rumors of wars! Terrorism has come so close—something we once thought was far away and unimaginable.
The devil has an agenda: to distract you, to make you bitter, and to keep you busy with everything except what truly matters—eternity. How ready are you? What is your conclusion?
Do you see the spirit of delusion hovering over the world? Many have lowered their standards concerning godly living. “It doesn’t really matter” has replaced the real thing. The small but important details that mattered in the early days of the Church have been thrown away. Things the Bible said should not even be mentioned among us have now become our lifestyle. Sin is no longer called sin—preachers even give it better-sounding names.
What a tragedy!
Compromise has crept into many sensitive issues. In the world, events are unfolding that make heaven-minded people wonder. Israel, once fiercely protective of its land, had leaders willing to divide Jerusalem to gain peace. Governments openly support same-sex marriage in defiance of what the Bible teaches—often just to gain political votes.
So, what have you given up in order to win favor or create a false peace? The devil, like a small but diligent ant, is slowly eating away at the foundation of our faith through compromise. Has compromise affected you? Is your foundation still firm? What have you sacrificed on the altar of convenience?
Look at today’s fashion: women exposing their bodies, competing silently to see who will go more naked first. Society becomes darker when even parents encourage this evil. I once asked a girl, “Why do you always wear this to church when you know what we’ve taught you?” She replied, “My mother says since she bought it, I must wear it. My father even forces me to wear it.”
Remember, you will reap whatever you sow.
The days are evil, the Bible says. It is getting harder to live righteously. What will you do in such times? Will you continue in sin, excusing yourself by saying, “After all, it’s the end times”? If God comes knocking today, will you be ready? Or are you planning to repent at the “eleventh hour”?
Be careful—Jesus may come at “ten-thirty,” before the eleventh hour you scheduled to repent.
Be wise. Turn now to Jesus. He is waiting for you.
