Reports from Our Missionaries in Ivory Coast

ivory_coast_01

By the special grace of God, the first three months of the year 2011 saw much growth. The Churn had grown from 265 to 463 members between January and March. This could be due to the influx of people from the war zones but the church witnessed a steady growth in January.
In February, the church had a mission conference with Bro Fred Mouvokor of CAPRO as main speaker. About 30 people were trained as missionaries. Work is in progress concerning the modality so as to sift out those who are just being emotional.
The Church began a new work in ‘Dugbo’, a village about 180km from Abidjan. Though the survey has been completed, the couples there have been asked to hold on because of the situation of the country. The church has engaged in a lot of social work because displaced people come in for help.

Welfare needs like food and clothing are been met as much as possible.
The church’s school of discipleship is doing well. We have 15 students that are constantly meeting for theory and practical.
The major challenge being faced by the church now is the political situation in the country. Many brethren have moved to Ghana as refugees, while some lost their jobs because of companies closing down.
Please pray that the crisis in the country will be resolved soonest. Pray also that the incoming government will not come up with laws that will hinder the propagation iof the gospel of Christ. Pray for protection for all missionaries in Cote D’ivoire. Pray also that God will use this situation to bring many to salvation.
