Reports from Kadara Mission Field

kadara_01Sojourners Missions came to the Kadara tribe of Kaduna State, Nigeria in 2003 but settled in Aburon from where they were reaching out to the Hausas and Fulani. I came to Aburon June 2010.
Aburon can be described as a land that hasa form of godliness but denying the powers. There is a church there but idol worship and witchcraft are very much practiced. In June 2010, there were three men, five women and eight children in the mission who were not born again even though they were coming to church.
Climbing The mountain in Kadara to pray is a great risk, because it is a ‘sacred’ mountain were one of their gods lived. Even youths could kill anyone for climbing and defiling the mountain.
Statistics has shown that Aburon people worship six gods. Each god had particular things they do.

Armed with this information, we ambarked on an intense spiritual warfare. I am glad to say here that intensive prayers made their youths no more aggressive as they used to be.
Currently there are eight men, six women and twelve children who are born again in the church.
Work is in progress on the building of two more classroms in the school we established at Aburon. This will enable us cope with increasing number of children in the school.
Missionaries in Kadara mission field are reaching out to a neighbouring muslim community called Kabode and great results are being achieved.
Aburon lacks good roads and clean water. These are our major challenges. A bore-hole will go a long way in boosting missionary work there. Hausa Biblical translations are needed for new converts
